We have had a couple of very busy and blessed Sundays with another very special Sunday coming up this weekend at Wesley Foundation at Purdue...
This coming weekend:
We hope you can come to a fun SpringFest/Bug Bowl/Gala weekend April 11-13, 2008 at Purdue– which is also fun for kids.*
We will have an open house and casual reception at Wesley Friday 4-5 pm and Sat. 2-5 pm to welcome alumni back home and celebrate church friends of Wesley. Tours, cold drinks, and finger food will be provided.
This Sunday we also will be hosting a “Grand Alternative Praise Party” with the Baptist Student Foundation on Sunday during our usual worship time, 4:30 pm. Music will be provided by Common Ground featuring 2006 alum, Nathan Arnold and the BSF Praise Band. Anyone (students, pastors, church members, alumni, parents, etc.) is welcome to come! Snacks will be starting at 4 pm and a free supper is provided after worship.
Please pray for the safety of the students next week and the next weekend which is also known as Grand Prix Weekend at Purdue. There is already lots of crazy driving and partying going on...
Wesley Foundation is celebrated at Purdue as the ministry that started Grand Alternative many years ago before it was adopted as an official Purdue Program. We are now one of many campus ministries and groups providing non-alcoholic alternatives for students to attend all weekend.
Sunday, March 30:
Glen and Christian preached together at First UMC and the Africa Praise Choir sang at both services. The FUMC youth band (led by Wesley student Ben Hallet) also played contemporary praise music both services.
Lana and a group of seven Wesleyites went to share drama and music Sunday morning at Michigantown UMC last Sunday. Then they stopped by Wesley Manor to share a drama at their morning worship and had lunch with the residents and Chaplain Ron Mann.
Another group of 20 including Lana, Glen, and Christian went back to Frankfort to Wesley Manor to lead worship for about 50 residents, including several Wesley Foundation alumni.
Last Sunday, April 6:
We enjoyed a dance by Deana Fandrei to “Set the World on Fire,” by Brittany Cole.
We were blessed with a sermon on “Second Chances” by a special guest preacher. Sandy Lumpkin is appointed as pastor at Rehobeth UMC in Muncie District and is also the mother of one of our awesome students, Eric Lumpkin.
We had a full house (over 60) with a group from Ball State College Connection coming to visit for ultimate recreation, worship and supper.

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each builder should choose carefully how to build on it. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid;
that Foundation is Jesus Christ.
