Student leaders from the Wesley Foundation have made a significant gift of more than $6000 in support of the new Wesley Student Center which is set to open in summer 2026. The leaders make up the Council on Ministries (COM) which is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a wide range of activities, ministries, and outreach programs on and off Purdue’s campus.

"Wesley has invested so much into me as a student leader and as a young Methodist that I wanted to personally invest into the next season of our ministry with the new building and give back a small portion of what I have received,” said Adrian Walker, COM secretary, church outreach chair, and Winterization senior coordinator. “I now have a spiritual home and a community of friends I will treasure for life, and I hope my gift helps another student find the same in our new building."

The core of Wesley Foundation’s mission is to help students discover their passions and develop skills in a supportive community so that they may become equipped and engaged leaders now and in the future. These students embody that mission and proudly represent the diverse and welcoming community of Wesley.

“As an alumnus and capital campaign chair for Wesley Foundation I am incredibly proud of our students showing their commitment to the new Wesley Foundation Student Center,” said Adam Hemmelgarn. “Our students have been resilient through this transition, and have reminded us what Wesley is truly about, being a home away from home for students all around the world. I am thankful for their commitment and cannot wait for them to move in this August!”

The new Wesley Foundation Student Center is part of A Legacy of Welcome: The Campaign for Wesley Foundation which is raising money to expand Wesley’s ministry across the Purdue University campus and to create an intentional community space in the new Wesley Foundation Student Center. Alumni, churches, families and friends are invited to become a part of this legacy by making a gift. Make a gift today or learn more about Wesley’s giving priorities
